High-dose Vitamin C IV infusion can help boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and improve overall health. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant known for scavenging free radicals and fortifying the immune system by helping the body’s natural defenses fight inflammation. It aids in the absorption of iron and has been shown to improve the quality of life of those with chronic illnesses. High-dose Vitamin C has also been shown to benefit cancer patients.

Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant when administered in low doses (below 10 grams) and provides protection against oxidative stress-induced cellular damage. In high doses (10 grams and higher), Vitamin C becomes a pro-oxidant and can be used as an adjunctive
measure to minimize the effects of cancer treatment.

*Infusion of Vitamin C in high doses (10 grams and higher) is patient-specific and requires additional screening. Patients must present a negative G6PD blood test to rule out G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency prior to administration. Please call us at 757-974-5828 if you have questions.

We offer high-dose Vitamin C therapy as an adjunct cancer treatment, as well as lower doses of Vitamin C for many other conditions, including infections, delayed wound healing, diabetes, vascular, vision and muscle conditions.

Vitamin C is a vital water-soluble nutrient that, due to various gene mutations, cannot be synthesized by the human body on its own. Therefore, humans must get their Vitamin C from dietary sources. In general, Vitamin C has several pivotal physiological functions in the body through acting as an electron donor, scavenger of reactive oxygen species, epigenetic regulator and immunotherapy enhancer. In addition to being a powerful antioxidant, Vitamin C also helps to maintain vital tissue structures and functions, by protecting key macromolecules such as proteins, fats, collagen and DNA from oxidative stress. Vitamin C also functions as an enzyme cofactor involved in the production of hormones and energy.

Nutritional deficiency of Vitamin C is related to anemia, bleeding gums, infections, scurvy, capillary hemorrhage, delayed wound healing, atherosclerotic plaques, muscle degeneration and more. In fact, Vitamin C is used in the prevention and treatment of a broad spectrum of
conditions, including diabetes, atherosclerosis, the common cold, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, stroke, heart disease, COVID-19 and cancer. Vitamin C supplemented in high amounts makes up for such deficiencies. Unlike fat-soluble vitamins, toxicity from high-dose Vitamin C is uncommon.
